You will see that there are three routes, and you are free to choose which you will tackle. You will cross a few roads and there will be a steward at each (Burton Road, Natland Road, Hawes lane) and also the narrow pavement at Sedgwick. We will have signs warning motorists of walkers.
Kirkbie Kendal School to Sedgwick Village Hall and back.
It is pretty flat with some stiles and possibly slightly muddy. (10.5km - 6.5miles). We anticipate that this will be the most popular. The very fit or quite fit may want to run/jog, but most will walk! Hot and cold refreshments will be available, though don't dally too long.
Kirkbie Kendal School to Hawes Bridge and back.
Same conditions as Route A. On both routes there may be small trip hazards similar to any footpath. We think this will be most suitable to pre-primary folk. (6km - 3.75miles). Refreshments cannot be guaranteed.
Kirkbie Kendal School to Watercrook and back.
This is the old canal path route (no cross-country) for those with mobility problems or in wheelchairs. (2.5km - 1.6miles). We are aware that this is still quite challenging. Refreshments cannot be guaranteed.
